The suggested theme for this year’s Classic Motor Show at the NEC was the fairground. As the show was held over Halloween weekend we decided (like many others) that a ghost train was needed so we set up “Destructor, the ghost train with a difference” where a complete car goes in but not much comes back out again.

During the Saturday afternoon a show official came to see us to make sure we would be attending the show ball that evening. We hadn’t planned on it and none of us had taken along appropriate cloths but we went along anyway to find that we had been awarded the trophy for the “Best Themed Club Stand” beating some other stunning displays. Such a great surprise!

Our thanks to members John Harold, Paul Chandler, Graham Orchard for bringing along their MkII Cortinas to make an another amazing display.
